I thought the museum did a very effective job of portraying the history of the Jewish population in Sarajevo, over the past several centuries. It was particularly interesting because in Sarajevo, one learns about the three dominant religions but it's interesting to also learn about a fourth religion that co-existed fairly peacefully until WW II. Dont you miss to visit this special Jewish Museum.Sarajevo,has an amazing museum for this important Jewish element in the Balkans and Central Europe.

A small but compact history of Judaism in Sarajevo.The curator I met spoke excellent English and gave an eloquent description of Jewish live in Sarajevo not only during the siege, but during the |Nazi occupation as well.

The Jeewish Museum in Sarajevo is located in the old synagogue. Its room were used both during and after the last war to store and protect items salvaged from the Sarajevo Museum, while it was being bombarded and while it was being restored.
