This little building caught my eye one night as I was walking back from supper. Beautiful building at night. Went back the next day and wow what a sight. Reminds me of the scene in the movie Jumper where they "jump" into the Roman theater. So much to see in Sofia, every block has its own character and charm.

One of the oldest building is Sofia, surrounded by the remains on an ancient Roman bath. Not far away is the underground section of ancient Serdika which is also worth wandering through.

This charming round red brick church dates back to the 4th century, during the rule of Emperor Constantine the Great. Strongly attached to Serdica, the Emperor often called the city his Rome as he was a fan of its fresh air: he even planned to make it the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire. Ultimately, he dropped that idea but... More

Once a museum, built when this land was a part of the Roman empire, now it is an active Orthodox church with regular holy services. Beautifully placed in the yard of the President's residence, this hidden treasure brings you back in the time of emperors
