The building itself is a work of art. There were many displays of art on display but I had unfortunately come when they were changing a new display and could not see all there was to offer for security reasons.

This museum very often stages exciting exhibitions from all over the world and in the summer is known to host also special festivals that include live concerts and other theatrical events or screenings. It's worthwhile visiting then. The standard exhibits are less exiciting and not worht the tourist's time. The building and the adjacent square are the visitors' must.

Presented in well lit rooms with staff available to direct people to each one. Approx. £1.50 to enter. Great on a cold or wet day. Some items... More

I like the exhibits in this museum because they are intended to portray the ordinary parts of Croatian life. Bread, costumes, tools, etc. The acoustics are not good, but the museum is well designed and easy to navigate.

This museum provides exhibits of, well, arts and crafts that are very distinctively southern European. The furniture displays are very unusual and show the effects of centuries of Austrian and Ottoman Empire influence. The sculpture and pottery displays are equally fascinating. Our one regret is that we didn't purchase a catalog of the museum's permanent collection. Even written in the... More
