During May 2012, the town had "characters in costume" wandering around St Mark's. They were very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Nice touch.

Beautiful! It was such a nice change from the graffiti buildings in the Lower Town. It's picturesque, with the government buildings and St. Mark's Church. Parking was non-existent for us, as most of it seems to be reserved for the residents, but from what we could decipher from a policeman, there is a garage...though we didn't see it. It didn't... Many sights to see. Take the walking tour for a worthwhile half day. Note all the interesting patterns of brick and tiles on buildings as well as the feeling of history. Overlooking both lower and upper towns are the spires of the commanding Cathedral.

The first day we were just wondering around the city by ourselves but the next day we have a guide to take us around the city and explain the history of the city which is much more interesting. The Dolac Market is bustling with people, fresh flowers, fruits, vegetable and Easter gifts.

Excellent, but could be better of without the cars and with some more lively restaurants, cafes.

It reminds me a bit of Montmartre in miniature, only cleaner and more tourist friendly. The most charming part of Zagreb, full of cafes, small streets climbing up the hill and beautiful views. Once we discovered it, we didnt even want to head to the main square, much more crowded and much more your typical European bar/pub environment. In the... More
