This is a must-see as soon as possible because I understand that the buildings in Prypiat, the ghost town that was created in 1970 to house the workers for the nearby Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, is deteriorating fast and could become inaccessible. Unlike one of the other reviewers, who was unable to go inside the buildings, we were given a... More

After recently being disappointed by 2 'experiences of a lifetime' I suppressed my expectations for this tour so not to be disappointed. I needn't have done so. Travelled with SoloEast who turned out to be an efficient and responsible company. Travelled just under 2 hours from Kiev to the 30km exclusion zone and met our guide who was employed by... More

Seing what my fellow travelers have already written regarding the program of the trip I will not repeat myself. It's clearly obvious what awaits you in this one day. Warning, three weeks ago the authorities have forbidden any access to the buildings as they have become very unstable and the school has collapsed completely, so you will only get a... More

This is a must see if you have a spare day on a visit to Kiev! I went on a day tour of Chernobyl/Pripyat in September 2011 and the experience exceeded my expectations. On the journey to Chernobyl from Kiev the bus was shown a documentary on the events which caused the catastrophe. On arrival in the village of Chernobyl... More

Thank you for the review. We improved our on-line payment system as there we're few glitches on the bank's site before and it's much easier now to pay a deposit with Visa or Master Card. We also added PayPal option for those who has an account with them. And as always we we are glad to see you in our... More

This trip will probably change your mind forever. Being inside the exclusion zone and get a firsthand experience of the consequence of the worlds worst (so far) nuclear accident, will not leave you untouched. I did both a standard group tour and a private one, with the guides Maxim Orel (group tour), Nikolay Fomin (private tour). Both nice and friendly... More

When we had made up our minds to tell the story of Chernobyl in our latest documentary and music video, the biggest question was "Who can we trust?" Having never been to Ukraine, the risk of radiation exposure was only one lingering thought on an ever growing list of concerns. After hitting a brick wall with several other tour agencies... More

The abandoned city of Pripyat truly is a once in a lifetime destination, I don't know of anywhere else on the planet where a person can witness firsthand a deserted city of 45,000 people. I know that many people might be wary of traveling here because of its history but those of you who do will remember this place vividly... More

We booked with tourkiev.com/Solo East, travelling in October 2011 and had the most amazing trip. We spent 4 inspiring days in Ukraine; Kiev for 1 day then to Chernobyl/Pripyat for 2 days and back to Kiev. Solo East took care of everything from food to accommodation to transfers: they collected us from the airport, took us to our apartment in... More

I went on the group tour of Chernobyl organized by SoloEast Travel. Booking online was easy. Visiting Chernobyl was pretty amazing. But the guide was: The. Worst. Guide. Ever. Seemed totally uninterested in the tour or in the people in the group. On the one and a half hour drive from Kiev to the site, he said nothing at all... More

My girlfriend and I went in late August 2011 through SoloEast. We were picked up from the airport (much cheaper than cab), and driven to Chernobyl. Our driver, Igor, was very friendly and spoke decent English. Our luggage was lost during the flight over, so we had to wait for 2 hour to report it missing and Igor waited for... More
