We visited the complex early in the day just as it was openinhg. That was wise as it attracks many visitors. Thw women inside the cathedral are not friendly when directing one around. But the art work is special. It is a must when visiting Kiev.

Very difficult to visit as a foreigner since all the plaques are in Ukrainian. You can pay extra for the English guided tour (which don't run very often), but I did not want to do it because it's 90 minutes, I believe. However, it's a nice area to... More

Beautiful church in the centre of Kiev. From the bell tower you get a nice view over the city, but it was unfortunately not open when we were there.

Pleasant peaceful area in the city. Bell Tower gives good views. Interior not quite as stunning as the exterior suggests

The preserved frescoes are amazingly beautiful and I was delighted to get to see them in real. However my visit would have been better if I had placed my camera in my bag before going in. It's forbidden to take photos inside and because I knew that, I shut my camera but left it hanging on my neck. Once inside,... More

The shots of the St Sofia bell tower are taken from the Mykhaylivska Church bell tower on the opposite end of the street. It costs some 1.5 dollars to go up and enoy the view.
