The Amador Causeway, joining three small islands, is relatively quiet in the daytime (except Sundays when the locals come back from the beaches). Good place for some sights, food, drinking. Relatively safe, but of course always travel in groups at night anywhere outside the US. Reminds me of a beginning stage of Chicago's Navy Pier without a Ferris Wheel. You can drive there as parking is ample. more

This is a great place to spend much more than a few hours of time, you can rent a bicycle from numerous vendors at the entrance, be sure to haggle on the price or the hours on the use of the bike, because everything is negotiable, I messed up and paid $2.50 for and hour (1 hour not nearly enough... more
