One of the most prominent attractions in Skopje. A must see (must visit). The Cross was built in 2000 in order to mark 2000 years of Christianity in Macedonia, on the peak Krstovar at 1,060 m. on the Vodno Mt. Area is accessible by rope-way, and cost 100 MKD (1,6 EUR) in each direction.

Apart from disliking the religious designation of this building, one has to admire the construction itself and the grandiosity you feel standing beneath it. It is Illuminated, and can be clearly seen by night. It has become kind of a landmark for Skopje - you can see it from very, very far. You can go there by car, or cable-car,... More

Wonderful experience even in the freezing cold. There is a little cafe at the top and it is cool looking in both directions. There is a bus that goes up to Middle Vodno that you can catch in the center or a cab for about 200 MKD, then the sky lift is amazing! There is also a trail if you... More

It is really something unique! The cross is situated on top of the mountain and you can reach it by bus or car and then you have to take the lift (cable). You better try to find the schedule before going up, as we arrived there on Sunday too late and on Monday it was not working, but depends if... More

Built, I was told, mostly to upset the Albanians, this large cross is as garish and excessive as you might ever wish. Views will obviously be amazing, and it is another small chapter in the book of Macedonian self-determination. By the time they are finished, they will have more tasteless monuments than any other country in the world. But the... More

Take the Gondola up, have lunch, and enjoy the views. Great place to visit in Skopje.

The Cable Car Millenium Cross connects the top of Mt. Vodno with the rest of Skopje. The price of the ticket is incredibly low, and the experience is completely worthy. There're stunning views of the surrounding mountains, as well as of the city centre. (Try to visit the place in March/April, as the weather is already sunny, the mountains are... More

What it is: A gigantic cross which looks as if it is made out of Meccano, on the hills south of the city. Height just over 1,000 metres. There is a website, but at present it is only in Macedonian. http://zicnica.jsp.com.mk/ What you can see: When you are at the top there’s a panoramic view of the city to the... More

The world's largest cross stands magnificently on top of mount Vodno on Skopje's south side. Can be reached by foot or by ski-lift from the middle of the mountain. There is a road from the city center to the parking lot halfway up, and then cars are forbidden from driving further. Only pedestrians, cyclists, or the ski lift can be... More
