Roaring surf. Long, white sandy beach. Peaceful place but in the flight path to ACK.

We rode mopeds here from downtown once and it was well worth the ride. The waves and the surf are fantastic, but rip tide does occur, so you will need to take care while you are in the water.

No hawkers, vendors, etc. Just simple beach life. The cheap buses go there on a regular basis.

They call it Surfside for a reason! Huge waves, massive undertow at times. Gorgeous sand, miles long, lifeguards (they need them!) and great snack shop - excellent burgers on the beach!

If your traveling to Nantucket this is the beach for you. Don't even bother going to nobadear, cisco, or anything in between. You will just be disappointed unless you go to surf side. :D

Beautiful beach if you don't have time or a car to go to any other beach on the south, west, or east sides of the island.

My husband and I went to Nantucket and loved everything about it including the warmer waters and larger surf on Surfside Beach. We also loved the shops. Clearly Nantucket is the Madison ave of the cape!

Good waves for body surfing. Soft sand. Rentals of umbrellas. Good snack bar and o.k. clean bathroom facilities. Parking is fine and not a terribly long walk to the water. Our weather was perfect the second week of August. A nice breeze made it easy to spend the entire day at the beach!
