Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful beach!! we were able to watch many surf casters, and the best thing about it was one of the only dog friendly beaches we were able to access that wasn’t privately owned!

What a beautiful sight to see. From the unusual leaveless trees to the undulating dunes and natural soft sand coast, it is a paradise in New England. The island offers the ability to drive along the sandy beaches to get a big picture view into the vast landscape along the coast.

We stayed on the trails mostly in the woods and avoided any soft sand. This made for a great hike (and it was much cooler in the woods). Get a membership to the Trustees and don't pay for parking!

This area costs $5 to enter and I think it was $5 for the car. While I respect the work the trustees are doing on Martha's Vineyard, this isn't worth the cost unless you plan on spending some time on the beach. I didn't, although I walked along some of the trails before returning to the car and leaving.

This might be a terrific place for bird-watching, but it's a bit of a washout for hiking, literally. Unfortunately, one of the main attractions of hiking here was washed out by hurricane Sandy, and that is the access it afforded to the beach and Swan Pond. This is still a pleasant place to hike, though as with any place on Martha's Vineyard, you will need to be careful of poison ivy and ticks. The place is peaceful, and the wooded parts of the trail are pretty, and you can get some good views of Pocha Pond. They also have an active Osprey nest out there. There was a fledgling in it when we were there. Cape Poge, however, might afford better hiking and better access to the beach.

Wasque on Chappaquiddick is far removed from the rest of island civilization and it is just beautiful. So peaceful and wild with soaring ospreys, dunes and incredible ocean views. Worth the drive and ferry ride from Edgartown.

This is at the southeastern point of Chappaquiddick. When we arrived in late morning, there were only 3 other people there. It's not a great place for swimming because the current is very strong, but it's wonderful for watching birds, listening to the surf, and enjoying peace and quiet. There are a few short hiking trails in the area, but I wasn't impressed with any of them. There was construction going on at one of the points (due to beach erosion, I think) which restricted access to that area. We paid $9 to enter $3 for each adult (2 of us) and $3 for our car. The area is maintained by the Trustees of Reservations. Our receipt from this entrance fee granted us admission into the Cape Pogue area farther north on the island later that day.
