Ys, the entry fee of Q40 (USD5.50) is a little expensive, but I found this place to be so peaceful and atmospheric. There is a reasonable area to explore including ruins and beautiful gardens, plus a small museum upstairs. The restoration was funded by the Taiwanese Govt. so explanations are in Spanish, English and Chinese. I really enoyed my time...

This ruins are vast and you can really explore lots of little narrow spaces where the nuns lived. There is an underground circular rooms with a giant supporting pillar in the center that creates the most amazing sound affects. They now use this location to record chanting music and some other instrumental music. Amazing
The convent and church have only be restored externally. For the entrance fee of 40 Quetzales (around 5 USD), the interior was nothing special. The garden around the old convent is nice with the flowers and plants, however, overall I would not consider a visit to this convent worthwhile.
the guatemalan history after the spaniard invade Guatemala.
Another beautiful site in Antigua just to make you think about how grandiose this city must have been before that terrible earthquake.
The views of the surrounding areas from the top of the tower, and the garden are very nice.

They were setting up for a wedding the day we visited, but it was okay to wander around. beautiful garden with a Jacaranda tree and the most interesting is this circular courtyard off of which the nuns had their quarters. And then we went down a staircase into this echo chamber where I would think they all sang together. Awesome!
This place is really cool. Although it is expensive for a tourist, in comparison to what locals / students pay, it is totally worth it. Plus the $ supports the cultural site. I would suggest that you grab a take-away lunch, find your way back to the gardens and enjoy like the locals do.
Slightly different from the other "ruins" due to its history as a nunnery--sufficient remains to imagine the life of the nuns. Worth visiting
Otto gave us an informative tour in Spanish, sprinkled with English. This is a must see on the Antigua tour.
