There are lots of ways to enter the Palace, but I like walking up the east side of the Green Market, through all the vendor stalls selling hats, clothes, luggage and other tourist souvenirs, to enjoy looking at the entire eastern facade of this magnificent edifice. “The gate that leads to the farmer's market of Split”

We were in the old city (Stari Grad) which has 4 gates into it. To the east, you can take the Silver Gate which leads to an open air market area. We found the market interesting. We also discovered the church and monastery of St. Catherine of Alexandria. It had a simple church with some nice paintings and statues.
