The second oldest synagogue in Europe after Prague is this 1500 synagogue that functions only as a museum today. Some artifacts from its history are on display. It is a touch stone for Jews around the world

I found out recently that my Grandfather was not Austrian but Croatian... When I walked along the streets I wondered if he did as a boy...did he come to this Temple to attend services as a boy?

It's very small and up some stairs but worth the visit. Small museum attached. Some art stores nearby are interesting as well.

It is one of the oldest in all of Europe, and for that reason alone it is important to see. It is quite small, and it is a quick visit!

This is a small, somewhat difficult to find, synagogue within the walled city near the Stradun. It is the second oldest continuously functioning synogogue in Europe and the only one in Croatia. It contains a Torah from 14th-century Spain and items depicting Nazi-era tragic history of Jews in this area. There is a small admission fee and involves climbing steps... More
