Dubrovniks old Town was heavily bombed during the conflict in the 1990s and has subsequently been restored to its former glory. To wander around this fascinating old town is a delight and the walk along the citys walls is a must.It has a myriad of alleys with shops and restaurants and is truly one of the worlds must sees.Around the pretty... more

Went with the whole family (2 teens) in the rain...the marble was gorgeous and even though the weather was stormy, the site of the marble city sparkled. I'm almost glad it rained! Be sure to set your cameras so that the white background doesn't overpower your shots. It's a nice afternoon!! more

I live with my family inside the Old City of Dubrovnik. We're proud to be authentic citizens of this beautiful medieval walled town in the South Croatia. Unfortunately it has become overwhelmed by restaurants, outside tables, advertisings and souvenir shops. The life of the remaining population is getting more difficult every year. We hope that UNESCO will help to preserve... more

Take a walk on the city wall and obsurve Dubrovnik from above. See the details of each house, building and church and take this memory back to your home. more

More beautiful than Venice, easy to visit and explore on your own, friendly, lively day and night. A must see whne traveling to Croatia. Can be crowded during peak seasons. Hotel Zagreb outside the Old Town is excellent. more

A stunning step back into time where old and new converge. Coming from the US the traffic flow was a little hard to grasp, but taxis were conveniently located around the area as well as a bus system. Our taxi driver spoke English very well which he learned from British TV including the British accent! In Old Town we took a... more

We hired a company called Globus Travel to provide a tour of Old Town in Dubrovnik while we were ashore at one of our cruise ship stops. The guide they provided was very experienced and really brought to life the history of the place (including the more recent history of the siege in 1991 and 1992). I believe her name... more

They have done such a beautiful job with Dubrovnik...You can tell the people genuinely love their city. No trash, graffiti, no garrish signs. Just a beautiful old city. After visiting Athens this was such a refreshing change. more

For a well seasoned traveller , it was fabulous to find Dubrovnik had everything I almost ever wanted from a holiday location. In July, sun is beautiful, sea is gorgeous, old town is so well maintained and handsome. Transport is good, food is good , place is steeped in history. Would go back at first opportunity. more

The city is beautiful but everything has been overpriced and the service and quality of food does not reflect what you are paying. The food has been produced for the one-off cruise ship tourists who are only there for a short time and will not return. Far better to just visit for the day and eat and drink in Lapad... more
