They have done such a beautiful job with Dubrovnik...You can tell the people genuinely love their city. No trash, graffiti, no garrish signs. Just a beautiful old city. After visiting Athens this was such a refreshing change. more

For a well seasoned traveller , it was fabulous to find Dubrovnik had everything I almost ever wanted from a holiday location. In July, sun is beautiful, sea is gorgeous, old town is so well maintained and handsome. Transport is good, food is good , place is steeped in history. Would go back at first opportunity. more

The city is beautiful but everything has been overpriced and the service and quality of food does not reflect what you are paying. The food has been produced for the one-off cruise ship tourists who are only there for a short time and will not return. Far better to just visit for the day and eat and drink in Lapad... more

the old town is an amazing place. I can only liken it to a film set from 'the lord of the rings' In todays super fast, stressful, digital world it's great to walk into the old town and be able to step back in time. Located on a beautiful stretch of coastline, Dubrovnik has an old world feel to it and some spectacular places to see and views of the Mediterranean. The city has been well restored and is clean and easy to walk around. more

The Old Town has been repaired from the damages of the war. It has been very well done. The Old Town is ver commercial and is the only real shopping area in Dubrovnik. I was expecting to spend more time there and while its architecture is impressive I expected to spendmore time there. I would recommend Dubrovnik as a place... more

I visited Dubrovnik in 1981 when it was still Yugoslavia and before the bombing. For the best views, walk on top of the wall all around the city. Wear good walking shoes, as there are a lot of steps. Take the boat to the island to walk around or enjoy the beach. more

What a wonderful place to visit. It's clean, cared for and very interesting. Be careful to avoid the times of the cruise ship arrivals when the narrow passages get crowded . Do try the walk around the walls. It is hard work and steep but well worth it. I had a walking problem but still slowly managed two thirds round... more
