The fort is next to the mosque and old area of lahore and is a touristic attraction. A nice place to visit as and one can easily spend a few hours there. It is worthwhile to hire a guide who will charge about 3 dollars and will give an interesting historical over view of the place as well. Shamilar gardens...

Royal Fort and Shalamar Gardens are located in two different parts of Lahore city. Both places are big historic attractions. One wonders at the architecture reflecting since centuries.

Thanks to gulping of massive international donations , the once beautiful garden is in sorry state and can be seen in cheap repairs on any of the boundary walls.
