The Pakistani authorities should be ashamed for letting this fort, much smaller than the Red Fort in Delhi but definitely worth the visit - or would be, if they would only restore and clean it up. The mirror-work in the Shish Mahal is falling away and the grounds are dusty and unkempt, but the little Naulakha pavilion is still a... More

1. Shalimar Gardens: An old garden constructed by Mughal Kings, for history you may google it. It’s too much crowded area, around 8 Km from the main city area, if you stay in any 4* or 5* hotel of Lahore, you need at least 30 Mins to reach there, there is no entry ticket. A quiet & relaxing place, but... More

The fort is next to the mosque and old area of lahore and is a touristic attraction. A nice place to visit as and one can easily spend a few hours there. It is worthwhile to hire a guide who will charge about 3 dollars and will give an interesting historical over view of the place as well. Shamilar gardens... More

The one attraction in Lahore that should not be missed. Beautiful gardens - though they could be better maintained - and a fascinating fort

Royal Fort and Shalamar Gardens are located in two different parts of Lahore city. Both places are big historic attractions. One wonders at the architecture reflecting since centuries.

Thanks to gulping of massive international donations , the once beautiful garden is in sorry state and can be seen in cheap repairs on any of the boundary walls.

The gardens and pavilions are currently being renovated and the pink stone is being imported from Jaipur, India. We hired a guide for 200 Pakistani... More
