This centre is on the Big Red Bus route and is worth the stop. The arrangement seems rather casual. Someone takes your ticket and you may not see another againduringyourself guided tour. There is excellent photo display, many historical, showing the development of this region. It wash bit of a challenge findingthebuilding. Once you have stepped off the bus head... More

The Sheikh Saeed al-Maktoum's House is interesting architecture but what I found more enjoyable was the Heritage House and Al-Ahmadiya School which is also included in the ticket. All of the buildings over look the Creek and are a quick walk to the open air markets.

This is a really good place to come and gain some perspectives on the development of Dubai. It opens your eyes to a time that has passed and puts things into perspective. It is a shame that the quality of the photos are not great and that the gift shop does not contain for example prints for you to buy... More

I have visited the House a number of times and it always seems to be much more quiet than the Dubai Museum - perhaps because the coach parties do not have it as a regular stop. However, it is worth taking the time to visit. It is a unique opportunity to see an example of the local architectural style close-up.... More

A quiet visit to take in the dignity of refined Arab life. Just a short walk to the pedestrian tunnel to thr Gold Souk - most ex-pats do not even know this tunnel exists

I would strongly recommend to visit the hole heritage complex where the house is situated. It is worth walking through the narrow historic streets having a chance to enter some buildings to feel the spirit of Arab way of life.

A reconstructed house of a former sheikh, worth walking through to see what it might have been like years ago. Lots of photos of the former occupants, coin collections, etc. Kills 30 minutes to an hour or so.
