not like a modern zoo, in need of renovation- apparently a new location with better facilities is planned

Animal cruelty. Unimaginative park... looks like someone backyard animal cages.

Although it has improved a lot in the last few years, this zoo is not a type of zoo you would see in a developed country. Al Ain Zoo is much bigger and animals seem to be a lot happier there than Dubai Zoo.

This place is one of the biggest black spot on Dubai reputation! Small cages, congested. Despite repeated promises to remove it, nothing has been done up to now. For a much better experience, go to the AL AIN ZOO.

I grew up with Dubai zoo (over 20 years ago) however the zoo didn't grow... its the same old zoo.. this place needs an upgrade.. Badly

It is a real disappointment to see that all animals are confined in a very little space.

Other than the fact that the zoo is in a very accessible location, the cages are very tiny and the animals seem to be very depressed.
