We visited the Children's Garden at Matthaei Botanical Gardens and were delighted by the kid-friendly environment. Several different areas were set up so the kids could get their hands right into nature and see, touch, smell, and taste things growing there. I really enjoyed the sensory tables where there were herbs growing the kids could rub to experience different smells,... More

As cactus&succulent lover and collector I was fascinated with conservatory. Great building with hundreds desert and tropical plants that are perfectly presented. I've been in Ann Arbor 2 weeks ago, unfortunatelly haven't enough time for visit garden again although it was on my must visit list. Michigen University and City, en general, has a lot to offer to vistors, such... More

A delightful stop in the conservatory during the winter at the Botanical Garden. A wonderful experience whether going to the Arboretum downtown or the Botanical Garden outside downtown.

I wanted to go on the trails again like I did when I was a kid but haven't had much luck. I asked a worker who wasnt really sure where I should go. We did the indoor greenhouse walk through which was full of any plants but I would have liked to go outdoors as well. My pastor brings her... More

The indoor section is nice and calming. Better for relaxing that learning as there are relatively little information about the plants. Outdoor trails are ok, but nothing special.

Come to Matthaei Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum to connect with nature. Enjoy walking through the gardens and the Arb, or find a spot to read a book or study. You'll certainly enjoy a day walking through these gorgeous landscapes while admiring the flowers and plants.

Great place to go relax. The indoor part is too expensive though.

The TripAdvisor listing for this is "Matthaei Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum", but these are two discrete, far-apart attractions that happen to be under the same management. I see that many reviews of this are actually for Matthaei Botanical Gardens (as is the Dixboro Rd. address given), but this one will be specifically about "the Arb", an Ann Arbor institution... More

We visited the Botanical Gardens and Arboretum on a beautiful afternoon in April. The conservatory had many unusual plants and was interesting and a great place to take pictures. Unfortunately, our visit was made prior to the time of the year when the flowers are in full bloom, but walking around outside was a pleasant experience anyway. The Children's Garden... More
