Cute old church. Worth a few minutes..There is no entrance fee and although you are not supposed to take photos no one will stop you.

It would probably be worth taking a guide, because the history is really what completes the trip.

The in and outside are just beautiful, too bad you can't take photos.

This is the main thin to visit in Copacabana town. The outside of the cathedral is very nice, but the inside has the most incredible altar. You can then go to the back of the cathedral and see the shrine of the 'dark virgin'. Worth seeing.

This is a pretty cathedral but it is fairly basic, there isn´t much to see, but you don´t have to pay. The candle room that is recommended in lonely planet was a huge disappointment. There were only 2 candles lit and it wasn´t anything special.

Quenched my European thirst and made a few wishes and requests to the virgin of Copacabana. Very cool!

Copacabana Cathedral is better than you'd think - and bigger too. It's very unique - different than other churches we saw in Bolivia. Inside it is very nice with the usual giant gold altars and beautifully done statues. The Virgin of Copacabana is on display all in gold upstairs - be quiet here because people are praying. The wooden doors... More

This is a huge white painted building with blue and green tiled dome on one side of the main square. Only the Spanish were allowed into the cathedral. There is a huge courtyard outside with small chapels in each corner. The Native Indians were only allowed this far. You enter through a huge carved doorway telling the story of the... More
