ANGKOR WAS AWESOME. will definitely return; need at least 3 days. Sunset is a must; People are friendly but the corruption at the border between Thailand and Cambodia is off putting to say the least and leaves one with a bad taste in one's mouth. food is reasonable and we were never disappointed. more

I finally got to see this great place. Here are a few things that may be helpful to those considering. I went in October which is still technically rainy season. It was wonderful. There was a little rain but not much and the temples were actually better wet. I went to 3 temples after a rain with a foot of... more

I have been in Cambodia a few months ago. Angkor Wat was really really amazing. We were there already at sunrise. A little bit crowded because of all the people who wanted to see the sunrise, but definitely worth it. You can enjoy the view (most beautiful when it isnt that cloudy) and have breakfast upthere afterwards if you forgot... more

Spent three hours here with our guide (essential for all the temples to appreciate the stories and the details of the relief work) and time flew. The approach is just like in the pictures but we were not prepared for the immense layout of the inside or for the amount of detail on the walls. Despite the crowds a great... more

The Angkor Wat and indeed the entire site is breathtaking. The scale is unlike any ruins or sites in Europe and it is just beautiful. The feeling that you get when you ride up to it doesn't change however many times you see it. Don't bother with sunrise though. more

These temples with their intricate carvings in stone and incredible positions within the neatural environment around them make them astounding and beautiful. The thing is with so many tourists tramping around them the buildings are corroding and will soon be laid to waste by inconsiderate people. Stand back and take in the beauty. Don't destroy what you've come to see.... more

Go to Siem Reap, visit Angkor Wat and the 6 other temples that truly reflect a glorious heritage. The sophistication of the carvings, the beauty of the architecture, the beliefs and organization of this civilization are stunning. Ta Prong is not to be missed. How fortunate that these magnificent structures have been preserved for us now to see and appreciate. more

This is a fabulous site and there is no way it can visit in a single day. I spent three days visiting the temples and still did not do the site justice. The shere scale of the site is phenominal. There are many huge temple ruins to visit each with its own history. You need to hire a guide to... more

The temples each have a different appeal and leaves amazing images in your mind: the reliefs of Angkor Thom showing everyday life; the magnificent peace of the heads at the top of the temple; the hushed jungle around the smaller temples with birdsong amid the tall trees; the women in their kramas cutting grass at Angkor Wat in the early... more
