Magnificent temple for both size and detail. It will be busy when you get there but it is worth it. Very grand!

Visited here (one day) for the second time, and it was still as awesome as the first. Definately worth visiting when in Cambodia. Avoid the huge sum of tourists and tour groups by heading there early. (Sunrise if possible) By doing this, you will also...

We woke up early and headed in the dark to the West Gate of Angkor Wat. The sunrise over the towers is an absolute must. However, after the sun has risen dont follow the crowds into the west gate. Hop on a tuk tuk and zoom around to the east gate. Hardly any tourists (as they are all heading in...

Amazing architecture. A guide is recommended although you can survive on your own. Don't miss the Bas relief wall depicting the stories of the hindu gods. Go all the way to the farthest end to be able to climb the tower for a magnificent view. I suggest going during sunrise or later in the afternoon since the sun could be...

One of our stops through Asia was a visit to Siem Reap. Honestly, I had low expectations, but when we actually arrived there we were blown away. It's just surreal to find yourself standing there and actually be able to climb up the steps and see the original stone itself. Unlike Chitchen Iza (Mexico) you can still walk up and...

Most unique complex of temples that I have ever visited. Well worth the time and effort to spend at least 2 or 3 days exploring such a great world wonder.
If you came to Siem Reap this must be why you came. Huge but I think a little less interesting than some of the other smaller sites like Ta Prohm or Bayon
If you're a beginner who visited few countries - you will love it. However, if you're experienced traveller, been to Machu Picchu and other great places, you will be disappointed. Avoid organised tours, rent a tuk tuk and go by yourself.
we went here for sunrise, paddle our bicycle with eyes half-open 5 in the morning just to see how sunshine pour gold from angkor wat's tip to its floor. did it worth? yes! only, 5am is consider late, there already people with good spot for the sunrise which i so believe they must have slept there just for the sunrise!
