Although "ancestral homes" are not really my thing, Sun Yat Sen's home is more interesting for the degree of preservation and in particular the farming ventures that surround the home. It is definitely worth a visit if you find yourself with time to spare enroute between Zhuhai & Guangzhou.

Pretty much everyone else has said it so I'll just say that it was fun and a trip to see some of Chinas more or less recent past and history. Just understand that to the Chinese the good doctor is as famous as George Washington ! Puts it in a little more perspective.
