We were in Qingdao for only a short time and thus decided to visit only the most famous of its attractions. Zhanqiao Pier is the city's icon and is definitely a must-see if you are into culture and history. From the Zhanqiao Prince Hotel where we stayed, we had a great view of Zhanqiao and the Qingdao skyline behind it.... more

I stayed at the Beach Castle Hotel (only 120 yuan per night) which is a short walk to the pier. Every morning I would get up just as the sun rose and walk along the beach and then to the end of the pier. This is the most serene time to enjoy the atmosphere.
