we ended up on Cocalisto Island, had an amazing fish lunch, waters clear & blue , beach small but ride home in a speedboat with about 30 other people very rough & we got soaked so be waterproof, or take the bigger boat

Cartagena's beaches are not the nicest, brown sand and brown water because the ocean is mixed with water from the rio Magdalena, but the 45 min. trip to Las Islas Rosario or Baru gives you the oportunity to see white sand beaches and snorkel in christal clear water
