Please read my review about Tayrona park.. i wrote it so long ago that i dont really remember exactly what i wrote but im sure was pretty descriptive. Nevertheless, Lately i found another option which is a little more affordable and a pit more peaceful... Theres a camping place called "Finca LOS ANGELES", its not so far away from the... more

Actually, as a friend has previously said, Santa Marta deserves a visit if you intend to go to Parque Tayrona. A daytrip costs about U$30 per person including entrance fees and boat to the beach. Playa Crystal is one of the most beautiful we have seen in Colombia. Instead, it is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.... more

Just to add to what other people were saying about places to stay in Tayrona... When you arrive at the park there are 3 places you can stay. Cabo San Juan is furthest into the park, about 1.5 hrs walk, but it's a beautiful beach where you can swim and they have hammocks and camping including hammocks in an amazing... more

I stayed in Parque Tayrona for 3 nights a couple of years ago and slept in hammoks in one of the small establishments on Arecife Beach. It is very basic but this is part of the charm. the hammocks are strung out under a thatched roof but other than that you are totally out in the open, amongst a coconut... more

Went to Tayrona in Dec 08 and stayed in the ECOHABS as part of our honeymoon. I am a travel agent and my wife is Colombian so I have a general idea of what to expect. I agree with most points in the previous reviews but found the ecohabs just slightly disappointing and expensive for what you get. First the... more

Stayed 3 nights in Parque Tayrona - all three in a hammock ($5 US/ night). Took the bus from Sta Marta market to El Zaino - once at el Zaino, had my bag searched, paid the entrance fee and took the shuttle to Canaveral. Note: it's best to take this shuttle, otherwise it's a really really long walk. The first... more

Stayed for three nights at Arecife Beach(Finca Paraiso). As I did not carry a tent and did not want to sleep in a hammock i rented a "Cabana" which basically was one of four rooms in a row in a simple building. The room was extremely basic with a bunk bed , one double bed, a ceiling ventilator and a... more

The view was AMAZING! The rooms are very nice, but you have to climb up many steps to your room. The beds are firm but comfortable. Flat screen tvs, ipod docking station. The restaurant was slow and the food was ok (not great). The staff is very friendly. Free internet. Limited english speaking staff. We paid 440,000 COP per night... more

Used Colombian local travel agent "Aviatur" who were very helpful, Bogota offices have consultants who speak perfect English. Stayed in the eco-habs at Canaveral which is the best accommodation available in Parque Nacional Tayrona, about $200USD/night which was reasonable for the facilities. Travel agent organised transfers which were door to door! But pricey at $100USD return (when bus is about... more

Private, two storey huts perched on a hillside overlooking the sea. The sound of the waves crashing against the beach, the jungle spreading out to the Sierra Nevada behind you and the cool breeze from the fan on the ceiling. Location could not be better. Definitely by far the most upmarket option in the Parque Tayrona and relatively inexpensive by... more
