I loved climbing Mt Sinai, the experience is unforgettable. Completely worth not going to bed and hiking through the dark in the morning. The view on the top brings a stillness not found elsewhere on our trip to Egypt - sunrise was magical (take a blanket or a sleeping bag - magical but chilly!) Definite must do for anyone with... What an awesome experience! To travel the same mountain as Moses did! I can see why he stayed 40 days and 40 days, he didn't have the wonderful Bedouins along the way to serve him hot tea, plus he no doubt needed to recuperate. We did the night walk which my husband says was good since he is not sure... More

Sinai is the 6th mountain i hiked. The day i went, it was snowing as soon as we start the hike which started at midnight as we are planning to see the sunrise. There are 5 check points (if i'm not mistaken) before you reach the peak. The first and second one is quite far from each other and the... More

If you go to Greece, it's nice to know something about the great Grecian stories. In Ireland, some understanding of the ancient Celts is helpful.... With the Middle East, travel with a Bible. Even if you're an atheist or an agnostic, read the Bible. I was the only person in our Mount Sinai group with a Bible. And I had... More

This should be on the top of your list of things to do if you visit the Sinai Peninsula. I do not consider myself a "religious" person and this was still one of the coolest trips of my life. We started our ascent with a tour guide probably around 10:00 PM, I don't know what time it was exactly that... More

At the top of Egypt the breeze is cool and crowds are thin. There is a chance to stop and think and take it all in reflecting on the previous days of my journey. To anyone going to Egypt, Mt Sinai is well worth the hike. I walked up with a Bedouin guide for sunset however sunrise is equally popular.... More

My partner and I enjoyed the hike overall. However, be warned - this is no walk in the park in your trendy trainers. In terms of difficulty it is not far off the Inca Trail though only for 2 hours up and 2 hours down. It was 7km each way covering a climb of over 1500m. If you want to... More

The pilgrimage climb up this rocky mountain in the middle of the night has many advantages, but the most notable is, You can't see this huge thing so you can't chicken out at the start line. For relatively young & middle aged people this hike is no problem, a camel ride shouldnt be considered unless ur fat, lazy or slow... More
