qutab minar is one of the oldest mughal minarets formed in the capital city of india. it was built by the mughals during the mughal era of rule in india. it is regarded as the longest minaret in asia and is famous for plenty of things. also there is the great iron pillar situated within the premises of qutab minar.... more

The Qutab Minar site is located to the south of Delhi. The main focal point is a very large tower. This was the location of the first mosque in India. The tower and surrounding buildings were partly built using materials taken from several Hindu temples that were knocked down. This helps explain some of the architecture.
