I've been to Nagarhole umpteem times and more often than not stayed at kabini River lodge which is a good gateway to visit the Park. Sadly though, the safaris are not organised professionally especially if you've happened to visit the national Parks in Madhya Pradesh, etc. Its more of a joy ride through the forest which is admittedly very nice... The Nagarhole Tiger Reserve is an excellent weekend getaway. We stayed at the Kabini River Lodge (A JLR property which is excellent in itself). There is no better thrill than entering the dense forest in an open top jeep, trying to spot wild animals, especially the tiger and the leopard. And the joy of actually spotting one of them....priceless! We... More

We had been to this National Park as part of our trip to Coorg. The road to reach this National Park is through thick forests, and on the way itself you can spot some animals. We saw some deers wandering on the road, on our way to the park. We reached the park at 6 AM in the morning. The... More

On my way back from Wayanad to Bangalore, I preferred the route through Nagarhole National Park to reach Mysore. The roads were decent in the middle of the jungle. The roads will be closed by 6 PM. I was driving with average of 40 km/hr enjoying the animals and the undisturbed nature. Saw several elephants, monkeys and plenty of deers(many... More

I have been to Nagarhole NP many times and I have seen Deer in thousands of number. They graze like goats and sheeps and looks at you innocently with big kohl eyes. Its very easy to spot Deer, Elephants and Boars in this forest. I was also lucky to see Serpent Eagle and Giant Malabar Squirrel hanging from trees eating... More

On an exploration of the South of India part of my tour was a couple of nights in Nagarhole. I has booked in the UK with a company called Royle Safaris. First we went to Bandipur (which was excellent) and then on to Nagarhole. I was not as impressed; dont get me wrong the place is great, the forest is... More

Nagarhole, meaning Snake River in Kannada, is a small town in Karnataka where Nagarhole National Park is situated. It is a picture perfect tourist spot with lush green forests, mind taking water falls. Nagarhole derives its name from the winding course of the river like a snake that flows through the forests. Explore the surroundings of Nagarhole, feel the amazing... More
