It was my very first Ghat road experience - and will never move away from my memory for life !!!! One amazing road - 22 hair pin bends really testing and wound up but if you are not a good driver , please move over , the vehicles coming from the other side have really experienced drivers and they are... I am a regular visitor of this place and one can enjoy the feelings of hill station atmosphere by travelling a short distance(only 22 Hair pin curve). It is very nice place and in kallar you can take a cool bath .Do not visit March,April,May since the fogs will be less compared to other months. It is better to take food,water... More

This is the nearest hill station from Trivandrum. Take the Kattakada-Nedumangad-Ponmudi road, it has very good roads compared to the other routes. There is nothing other than the mist to see, but to say the least being buried in the mist is awesome. You will have to go through 22 hair pin bends to reach the hilltop.

One thing! Once passed Trivandrum it was a breeze. We departed Kovalam about 10 but due to getting a bit lost in Trivandrum (trying to avoid it) the route was fairly easy. The traffic would not suit the faint hearted and I would not reccomend the ride if you have no or little experience of riding motorbikes. Although the journey... More

I had visited ponmudi 2 years before. This time I went along with my friends for company. It was during January I visited the place. It was quite opposite to my last visit. It was not the coolness that attracted me. But the clouds in the sky had weaved a great texture, which lied over the sorrounding hills. It was... More

Ponmudi is one of the best hill stations I can never forget.. It is a waterfalls spot. But you will enjoy the forest and trekking more than you enjoy the waterfalls. Ponmudi waterfalls is inside the forest, approximately 1.5km far from the place where vehicles could reach. From there, you have to walk to the waterfalls in the forest. Sounds... More

Ponmudi Hill station is located around 2 hrs drive from Trivandrum, Kerala. The beauty starts as you climb up the hill towards the hill station. The place has a government rest house which can be booked from the government office in TVM city. We visited the place in October 2007. It was very cosy and very beautiful. Some key positives...
