Incredible collection, the owner built the building to house his own personal collection, the staff and guides are very helpful as well. A must see.

I strongly recommend the bus/tuk tuk journey to this museum. It ma ys eem a trek from Fort Kochi, but this was the best museum we saw in kerala
such a big collection and very diversified. I was very surprised
It was well worth the tuk tuk ride across the bridge to see this beautiful building and museum which houses an extensive one man collection of traditional art treasures from South, Middle and North Kerala. There is a magnificent theater in the building and we were disappointed to find that there were no scheduled performances.
I visited the Folklore Museum alone, and out of season, so could really take advantage of being surrounded by artwork with such provinence. The building itself is a real spectacle, and it is fantastic to appreciate the artifacts in this context.
I was staying in Fort Cochi, so a little way out of town. But it was well worth a...

The building inside and out is beautiful and it is a great place to see a quick snapshot of Keralan cultural objects in one place.

We don't understand the pain Mr.GEORGE THALIATH...

The visit to this museum was one of the highlights of our trip to South India
This is definitely a must when in Kochi. I rate it one of the best museums I have ever been too. The house is crammed with old masks, palm-leave manuscripts, folk dance costumes (different type - kathakali, theyyam), jewelery and makeup, photos, prehistoric finds,...

This is a mustsee for any visitor to Cochin, even if you have to skip the the 2 other museums around this area. Artefacts, objets d'art, temple pieces and the stuff of...

A little too tacky for our tastes. This seemed to be oriented towards a camera toting tourist population keen on a good "photo". If you really desire to see Kathakali, there are far better options elsewhere in the state.
