My best memories of Jaisalmer was the warmth of the people within the Fort. Just walking the streets my son & I became involved in a cricket game, and were invited into their homes to view the construction and the views! Thumbs up to such lovely people!

For any bengali child growing up with Satyajit Ray's Feluda stories, Jaisalmer holds a special place in the heart. And even after the improper maintenance, it lives up to its exitence. Travelling by the Jaisalmer Express, the first look of the fort from the train is breathtaking. The fort is living, as a part of it still inhabited by the... More

We have seen a few forts now and this was our least favorite it did have great views from the top but was not worth the 300 to go through the museum. If you have been to Jaipur, Jodhpur or Hyderabad forts you can afford to give this one a miss and just go for a wander through the alleys... More

The fortress and city in general are a work of art. My girlfriend and I stopped in Jaisalmer for two nights as part of a 3 week tour of Rajasthan. Jaisalmer was by far our favourite city during our stay as it has a much more relaxed atmosphere about the place. The sandstone structures are gorgeous.

Amazing fort - we stayed within it - and a remarkable place. Visually a treat and inside a warren of alleys and plazas with views from the battlements. In poor repair in many areas an dbeing over developed inside (new buidling!) it is a shock to most westerners... Streets full of flies and cattle roam as usual. Replete with havelis,... More
