Just back from a trip to Ranthambore and I have mixed views. We went on two drives and both were completly different. The first we drove at what felt like a hundred miles an hour over bumpy roads and stopped quickly when animals didn't run away from our reving engine. How we were meant to see a tiger I have... more

Ranthambore NAtional Park is the place to be if you want to see animals, birds etc. Its a tiger watcher's delight. Going on a safari at 5 :00 am in the morning , when its icy cold & quite int he city is an absolute delight. When you enter the park at that time, you are in the lap of... more

The attraction of Ranthambore is seeing tigers in the wild. Game drives in the park are organized in six zones, to spread traffic around. When you arrive at the park (all drives originate outside) you pick "at random" from a bag of numbers to be assigned to a zone. Likelihood of seeing a tiger varies widely by zone. Some have... more

If you go to India, you absolutely must visit Ranthambore National Park for a tiger safari. The park has only 15 tigers roaming the 392 square kilometer area, and unfortunately a lot of the time, the tigers like to wander outside the park gates where the villagers kill them with poison or traps. That's why citings of tigers in this... more

On December 24, 2008 we saw Tiger Brothers with the help of Mohammed, our guide. He was very knowledgeable and one could tell he really enjoyed his work. On our 2 other Safari's aboard our Canter Jeep, we saw other Flora and Fauna including a Leopard, Monkeys galore, Crocodiles and the Camera-Shy Kingfisher. The wild figs are yummy looking, high... more

We reached Ranthambhore on a balmy April morning from Delhi, after an excruciatingly comfortable night in a General coach of the Nizamuddin-Indore Intercity express. Hotel Vinayak (RTDC) is a 30min auto rickshaw ride away from Sawai Madhopur railway station. At that hour i.e 4:00-4:30 am, the only waking souls in the sleepy little town are hotel agents who queue up... more

I quite by chance managed to spend a week in Ranthambhore Bagh. This is a home away from home and run by the "Tiger Expert" Dicky Singh and his charming wife Poonam. The Food is just out of Mom's kitchen and the hospitality superb. For wildlife if you have Dicky Singh with you, it becomes an unfair advantage as his... more

I have placed an overall experience of "Above Average" as you have to take into consideration the location. Yes there are power cuts and the accommodation is basic, but what do you expect in the middle of a National Partk. We had three great safari and saw the Tigers in their natural habitat. The staff are very helpful and willing,... more
