A temple on the top & Eklingji fort are the places to visit on Machla Magra which means "a hillock like a fish".A privately run ropeway takes one to the top with all sort of wrong info to extract the money fron the gullible tourists. Take the least expensive ride.

their are gandolas working which take u to the top of the hill. on hill their is a fort and mandir. though we have been lot of times to this place we have not seen any of it. the view of lake pichola from this place is mesmerising. take a icecream from the cafe and go up on the terrace... More

While cruising Lake Pichola, look up the hill behind Jagmandir Island (Octopussy's house), and you'll see an old fort in ruins and two white cupolas. The location is called Machla Magri or Fish Hill. I took a tuk-tuk to this place from the Jagdish Temple for 50 rupees. Reaching there under 10 minutes, I realized the fare was a ripoff.... More
