I have visited the temples on several occasions and each time have wondered at the fantastic architecture and the tranquility. I could linger there for hours.

Do not miss the opportunity to visit the temple. It is worth getting one of the priests to give you a tour of the complex. We benefitted so much from the indepth explanations of the significance of architecture and the religious relevance of the its features.

A family vacation to Kumbhalgarh fort was undertaken in March 2012. Whilst we kept the Club Mahindra property as the base, we visited places around that area. One of the places that impressed me the most was the Ranakpur Jain temples. A neat entrance ushered us into the main temple. Considering that it was built many hundreds of years ago,... More

During my stay in Udaipur, I took a day for visiting Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh. It was a long day visiting the places but totally worth it. We hired a cab for the day with some friends and make the first stop in Kumbhalgarh Fort and then head up directly to Ranakpur to visit the temple.

If you visit Udaipur then include Ranakpur too in your itinerary. An excellent stop off from Udaipur only 70 KM away If you have planned to visit Kumbhalgarh, then can go via Ranakpur. Kumbalgarh is about 80 KM away from Ranakpur. Not a large site and only a couple of temples, but amazing carvings and a very unusual water tank... More

An excellent stop off from Udaipur. Not a large site and only a couple of temples, but amazing carvings and a very unusual water tank right at the front. We went when the water level was low so could see all the carved niches and small shrines - just like a large below ground picture gallery. A special place!
