Tamilnadu is famous for temples with fantastic architecture. The kailasanathar temple at kanchi is no different. This is not as famous as the other temples of Kanchi, but you shouldnt miss it if you are an architecture freak. As its now maintained by ASI, this is in good condition. There is no entrance fees, and ample space for car parking.... More

This is truly a masterpiece. It showcases Pallava era stone sculptures at their best. One of my favorite places.

Kanchipuram's ancient Kailasanathar temple was built by the Pallava emperor Rajasimha Varman and his son Mahendra Varman. The Pallavas also built the better known Mahabalipuram monuments and anyone who has seen these will experience a sense of deja vu at the Kailasanathar complex.
