Just a little distance from this park is the well known Vedatri maharishi ashram.Ashram provides meditation courses of various levels and is really good. The aliyar dam park is maintained by the government and lacks cleanliness.

Aliyar dam is one of d best holiday spots. A small theme park just for family entertainment nearby n monkey falls with d best water of Valparai. A nice spot to visit:)

Good One. To enjoy completely better to visit during weekdays.. Some of the well known Tamil movies including Kadalikka Neramlillai were taken here.. Dam and it's garden are good for family visits. To a little distance after the dam is the entrance to Aliyar nature reserve and Monkey falls. This path leads up the mountaineous forest terrian of western ghats. It is a good place for nature lovers, nature photography enthuist and those interested in sketching nature landscapes.

The aliyar dam reservoir park , on the way to valparai is an excellent place to relax and enjoy. We visited the reservoir in November this year and found the visit very pleasant.
