A group of us were staying at Sanur Beach Villas and were desperate to try a cooking school, we were so happy to find the Bamboo Shoots was on the premises and immediately signed up to do it. the trip to the markets to buy all the fresh ingredients is a must, it was amazing like nothing I had ever... I went to Bamboo Shoots in January by myself & was part of a small class of three. It was great. I was picked up from my accommodation on time by Dewi & met Irma and the other 2 participants at the morning markets. We had a look around with the girls explaining lots of produce to us - I... More

My partner and I had a great time doing this class. Irma and Dewi are gorgeous, friendly ladies ( of course they would be, they're Balinese ! ) who certainly know how to cook up a storm. The class agreed that it was much better eating our dishes as we prepared them rather than trying to stuff it all down... More

From the initial booking Irma was a pleasure to deal with. I was concerned that our children would be too young to attend with my husband and I but it was confirmed that they would be fine to attend. As we were not staying in the Sanur area we organised our own transport to the Sindhu markets to meet Irma... More

We had a great time as a family doing this class. We learnt a lot and it was great to do together. Met some nice people doing it. We were the family with the 'supposed annoying children' we'll make sure to buy them scratching posts for our next holiday. The class was very informative and tasty too. We didn't require... More

A wonderful morning at the market with our gorgeous hosts quite new to the tourist game. The cooking school is in a purpose-built outdoor kitchen at a tiny motel/hotel just out of the main drag. Breakfast was served on arrival from a fairly basic but tasty menu. After having been to many morning cooking schools on Bali, lunch is usually... More

Getting picked up to buy the ingredients at the market which will be used for the cooking was a perfect start. Following the market tour the group had breakfast before the cooking preparations started. All steps were explained and Irma and Dewi were open to answer questions throughout the morning. I was very impressed by the customer service, when I... More

This was the first ever cooking class I had attended on an overseas holiday. My friend and I are big foodies and we loved the hands on style. We also got to eat each dish as it was ready. The trip to the market to start was a real eye opener to someone who had been to Bali so many... More

A booking for my teenage daughter and myself started with a 7am market tour, very interesting seeing the different types of food available and the hosts were more than happy to stop, explain and often allow us to taste the various goodies. Back in time for breakfast and then we donned our aprons. It was about this time I fell... More
