There are hotels and campgrounds. You can drive all the way around the lake.

This is a beautiful area, and the lake is so lovely and serene. There is something special about this place though...I wish I could put my finger on it, but I cannot. You simply must experience it for yourself. Make certain you do one of the boat tours!

The boat ride on the Sea of Galilee was special -- calm, quiet, contemplative. The crew also encouraged the group to learn a local Jewish folkdance, and they gave a demonstration of casting out fishing nets.

The sunrises and early mornings are amazing. We were there for four nights and every sunrise was different. I was moved by being so close to where Jesus lived, served and walked on the water.

The Sea of Galilee, actually a lake can be seen/accessed from many points. As one visits peter Primacy in Tabgha, right at the back of the Church is a good view of the lake. I usually along along the shore and just at the shallow part of its waters. From the Ancient Boat Museum, one can take the wooden boat... More

I felt after being in crowded Jerusale and because of this one could be disappointed; the Sea of Galilee (like the Judean desert) could not be changed and hadn't changed. You must go on a boat - the crew on ours were very in tune with pilgrims and why they were there. We were lucky as one of the crew... More

So So pretty and well worth a visit. Can be rough but when we were there in May the sea was as still as a millpond and the water was very clean. With the Golan Heights on the far shore it really is very pretty .

A guide took us there ...really interesting, We are Jeiwsh, but it was great to see the faith of another religion as the people immersed themselves in a baptismal rite.
