You could spend hours in this musuem - and should. There are very interesting exhibits on the World Trade Center, the historical growth of NYC, the Adirondacks, the Native American history of New York, and a section on the Holocaust together with the experience of European Jews sequestered in Oswego during the war. While I loved the museum, it is... more

We stopped in Albany and toured this museum on the first day of our recent New England vacation. We have visited many state museums and this rates as one of the best. The New York City and World Trade Center 9/11 exhibits are excellent. My 8 year old son enjoyed the children's hands on area and riding the carousel. The... more

The collection is broad and... more

Very interesting. Lots to see, and it is free. Exhibits from all over the state. The 9/11 part is well done, and there is a lot on the history of NYC. Plenty for the whole family. Visited 8/07 more

It's free, it's well-curated, it's full of interesting exhibits for all ages and fun things to do for children. Every time I've been there it's been clean and well-cared for, which is... more

I live about 20 miles from Albany, so I've been to the museum about five times. It's nice and big with many exibits- everything from wildlife, science and Indian civilization. My favorite part is the September 11th, 2001 display, which has actual artifacts from the tragedy, videos, artwork and facts on the walls. Stop by if you're in the area.... more
