I went around June 20 and was surprised not to see tons of tourists. I heard this is right before the school is let out. I arranged a bus tour and it turned out to be a great idea since the park is large and the road is narrow and hard to navigate. Too see the manificent gorge covers such... more

Tarako National Park is a nice place to get away from the typical Taiwan city-cars, motorpeds, people, food, etc... Take a hike if you can, away from the usual stuff. Recent years, the roads are much safer. Stop by the visitor center on the way in, to learn more. The park rangers are very friendly as well. more
