we were only taken up to level 4 as i'm not sure you could go further at this time of year. whilst the terrain is a bit up and down its only a gentle walk and too strenuous. we were with two 70 year olds and they managed easily with a slightly slower pace. the waterfall at level 4 is... More

We went through Hua Hin Adventure Tours and a meal was included in the price. Wear good shoes as you need to trek - so no proper paths to walk up - and take a bottle of water. We went to level 4 but had time to stop at each level. Our guide pointed out things of interest and made... More

very peaceful apart from weekends when it is filled with Thai families picnicing and swimming. I have been several times and would suggest the best time to visit is March - April as there a literrally thousands of butterflies swarming around.

There is definitely a risk factor here if you are unprepared physically, do not wear appropriate footwear, or encounter a chance thunderstorm. I consider myself lucky. Accidents/falls could really be problematic if you go beyond stage 5. For me it was well worth the effort but be careful. You are really on your own.

Make sure that you have a good pair of shoes and prepare for challenging terrain. We went to level 5, but you could just stay att level 4. Both level 4 and 5 offers a nice chilling swim under the waterfall. In the water there are a lot of fishes, but they don't touch you.

Rent a car and go the 60 kms to Pala-U waterfall. It is located in Kaeng Krachan National Park. The trip is nice and at some point you enter the park where you have the chance to see wild elephants and monkeys. The waterfall has 16 steps (some very difficult to climb) and when we were there, we were only... More

I think the waterfall area is lovely, but as a permanent resident in Thailand, I resent paying 10 times as much as the local visitors. Some of the signs are informative, and you are left to make your own path most of the way. At the 5th level, foreigners are not allowed to go the last two levels. If the... More

My wife and I ventured onto the waterfall as an excursion with our hotel. We went mid week and there weren't that many people around. There are 15 levels and I am told it takes 2 days to climb the whole thing. We went to level 4 which is well worth it. We literally swam with big fish (30cm long,... More

We drove from Hua Hin. Stopped to buy grilled chicken, sticky rice and papaya salad when we almost reached the fall for our picnic. However, if you miss this, there are more grilled chicken being sold at the fall. However, I read that this stall is not always opened. The distance from the carpark to the 1st level of the... More
