Kata area is a little more quiet comparing to Patong and Karon. the local Thai are really nice people so I guess thats why they don't call Thailand a Land of A Thousand Smiles. Lovely beach. Good restaurants on the beach. We liked Kata Seafood. Quite big waves some days.

Kata beach is the more attractive sibling of Karon beach. It's a nice long beach, plenty of room to move. Plenty of sunbeds to rent. No hawkers to hassle you. It's very chilled.

We had a great day on the beach, it was a little busy but the waves were nice after being on Patong beach which has little or not waves at all. It was fairly clean as well. Good food on the beach.

Kata Beach is very nice. Always a sun chair available. My favorite was walking along the beach early in the morning when no one was there. I literally had the beach all to my self.
