Our recent cruise made a stop in the Turkish port of Cesme. It was a beautiful spring day. The countryside was beautiful, and the castle was interesting. Hard to fill a day here, but worth the stop.
This was one of the best castles I have visited. It is clean, tidy and well looked after. There are lots of steps so isn't suitable for all
Well kept old building in Cesme. Magnificent view of the bay and some of the Greek Islands. Only cost 7.00 TL to enter the castle.
Worth a quick visit to kill a couple of hours. Good views and some interesting exhibits.
The three best things about the castle is its very central location (can easily be combined with shopping at the high street or pier), the low price and the breathtaking views you can see from the top of the castle. Cesme's castle is charming (despite the steps). Beautiful view of town and Chios Island. Clean and well-preserved. Unfortunately not many people speak English in Cesme.
Most popular historical place in Cesme. Near Marina. You can see Chios island-Greece from castle.
