Basically a small church that they say sets over Mary's house - enjoyed the country side but would not go back. More of a shrine to collect money.

Wonderful little church in what use to be the Virgin Mary's House. No pictures allowed inside and need to be quiet as people are in there praying

This is one of those sites where you are left feeling spiritually uplifted or just fascinated by the experience. As a site it is not full of relics or artifacts - in terms of things to see , well there is a house/chapel with a place to place candles outside and taps offering holy water to visitors. In addition there... More

The house is higher up the mountain from the ancient Ephesus site. The house sits in a lush, cool location with trees, flowers and singing birds all around. I don't think I was expecting such a peaceful setting, but once there you can't help but become more relaxed. The house has been rebuilt on its original foundation. History and tradition... More

According to our guide, t's not confirmed that this is the Virgin Mary's actual home so that's why I gave it 4*. Still, a very cool experience, especially if you are spiritual. Bring an empty bottle if you'd like to bring home some holy water. Overpriced, cheaply made trinkets sold at the shops, which cheapened the experience somewhat.

After Jesus died, St. John brought Virgin Mary to Ephesus. It is worth to see where Virgin Mary lived. It is popular place for Catholic pilgrimage and tourists.

If you believe that a bedridden German nun, in the 19th century, had a vision of this place and, later, it was discovered, then you can believe almost anything. The myth behind this is almost comical. It is so commercialized that they have to keep the myth alive. We visited this as part of a group tour which is the... More
