Personnally, I though the House of Virgin Mary was definitely not worth the price or the trip. There is nothing extraordinary nor exceptional about it; it was just a small very old house. Worth seeing just for the concept of seeing Mary’s house, but this site is so touristy it’s sad. It has been decorated inside with lots of Catholic relics, and a nun presides over the doorway. It takes 2 minutes to walk through. more

So many religious sites are overwhelmed by tour buses, but the House of mary near Ephesus is an exception. While it is a small building, there are ample spots in the vicinity to sit and reflect on Mary's role to Christianity. Shaded.
