Victoria Falls are quite different from other falls in that you don't see the bottom of the falls. This is because massive amount of water from the Zambezi river falls into a narrow gorge and the force of the impact pushes lot of water/moisture to splash upwards. This water falls back on the spectators in the form of a heavy... More

This was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. We were there in July when the falls were full and truly majestic.

There are a few things to know before you go. 1. Use an waterproof camera or put your camera in a zip lock bag. Especially during high water. 2. Bring a dry bag or poncho 3. There is a charge from both sides to get close to the falls. 4. When arriving at the airport make sure you get a... More

I recall my first visit to Niagara and the awsome sight. 3 years ago we visited Iguazu in Argentina/Brazil and i was absolutely floored then endured my Iguazu baptism on the tour boat. I can see why Elenor Roosevelt was reputed to have said "poor Niagara" when she first saw Iguazu. I wonder what she said or would have said... More

If you visit in or just after the wet season, be prepared for a power shower experience, particularly on the knife edge bridge. The view at the top of the falls as the Zambezi disappears is great, but for an overall view the Zimbabwe side is better at this time of year.

Spectacular views of a great natural wonder. For the geologically inclined there is a great explanation of the formation of the falls and gorge at the visitors center museum. Don't forget to buy one of those Zimbabwe 100 trillion dollar bank notes from the local hawkers!

Watching the water leap over the falls and leaning over as far as you dare to see where it lands definately sends thrills and chills racing up and down your spine! With the cold spary of mist that washes over you and the beautiful surrounding plant life, you feel like you could lose yourself in its depths forever.

The town of Livingstone in Zambia provides easy access to the Victoria Falls. March and April are the best months for high water levels, and include plenty of spray with the added bonus of rainbows during an early morning visit. I avoided the curios and headed straight for the entrance. It's a cheap cab ride from the centre of town... More
