I really appreciated this gem of a museum in Nagoya. There is a lot of interesting exhibits that show the beginning of the Toyoda company when it manufactured looms. I did not think looms would be too exciting, but the presentation here is great. I also enjoyed the development of the cars exhibition. Seeing a (replica -- but one of...

It is quite interesting that Toyota has it's roots in weaving machines before they started building cars in the 1920s. Half of the museum is devoted to this technology. There are lots of demonstrations, some are even in English language. If you're interested in this this is the right place to see.

my daughter liked the car exhibits but we were actually all rapt with attention watching the spinning machines at work and the history of spinning and also of Toyoda. They also had a fun and educational program perfect for my toddler that taught her how a helicopter works. It is great for both kids and adults and I would reserve...

I only had an hour...

Interesting seeing how the company developed. The staff interact with you to show you how things worked. A good 1/2 day
A great place with Kids!! They could watch how a car is made, part by part with lots of buttons to pressed (hahaha, at least my 9-years old son loves it). Also, they have activities for kids -- a small plastic car making, key-chain and we made a Kite at the time we visit. Just 1 station from JR Nagoya,...

This is actually a large museum and so 2 hours or so is probably needed to see everything. It's usually rather quiet on weekdays, which lets one really take their time.
It's divided up into essentially two areas: the textile machinery pavilion and automobile pavilion. The first section is weaving machines, their history, etc. It starts from basic hand weaving...

It may seem odd, but the Toyota Commemorative Museum was at the top of my list for sites to see in Nagoya, and I wasn't disappointed. It's a bit of a walk from the center of the city, but thanks to the recent sprucing up due to the World Expo, there are small directional signs painted on the sidewalk (in...
