Nature at its best in Autumn with the colour change. Must see in Autumn. The travel takes 1.5 hours and the public transport is the best way to get there. From Matsumoto the train+bus combo is great. Try to go on a weekday as its less crowded. Try some of the local cuisine at Kamikochi

This is not the easiest place to get to - but it is worth the train and bus trip! The scenery is gorgeous. My husband and I went for a day of walking and exploring with my father (in his 60s) and we all had no problems walking around the plateau for about 4 hours. The paths are easy to...
