The Hikawamaru is an exceptionally well preserved ship with a tremendous amount of history inside it`s hull. It is well worth the visit.
Hikawa-maru is a historical passenger ship. This ship operated at Japan to USA or Canada route in 1930 to 1960. Many celebrities loved this ship and enjoyed the trip. For example, Charlie Chaplin is also the one person. Now, Hikawa-maru becomes a Histric Museum and you can watching inside the ship. You can feel an old good time in Hikawa-maru.
There is a small cafe and shop nearby, but you do not buy the tickets from there, just walk across the gangway and on to the ship and the entry is there. It was very cheap, I think just 200 yen each. More than half the ship is sealed up, but there is still plenty of things to see on... More
Exhibits have very good english explanations and videos. If you like the sea and maritime transports, this is a museum to visit.
