These gardens, which house several historic Japanese buildings, is really an amazing escape from the crowds of Yokohama and Tokyo. While you are walking around the expansive grounds, it is easy to forget you're in the most populated metro area in the world. My husband and I were in Japan in October of 2006 and went to the Sankeien Gardens one day "just as something to do". We were glad we did!!
