Very busy place but also very Soviet. a lot of kids to do if you don't mind being nickle and dimed.

When we visited, there were many wedding parties. It was nice to walk through the park and observe.

Good place but dirty In kind of, it can remind you CENTRAL PARK in NY but less size. Have a church in the middle, place for kids etc

Firstly, when people visit Almaty they go to see the mountains, but its interesting only for the first time. There are a lot of great places except them. Very nice park to walk in, lovely flower beds and coniferous trees. Lots of rides in the parks- not sure about the safety levels there though.
There's an aquapark with water slides and a little house of horrors ride. Didn't go inside any of them so can't provide detailed reviews. Lots of eating places serving shashliks. A nice boating area...
